Greetings.
And welcome to www.steveworthingtonart.com.

Here you'll find images of my award winning animal sculptures, as well as a pictorial walk through the bronze casting process, featuring my rabbits.

That journey begins with a picture of a real rabbit, through sculpting, and then all aspects of the lost wax method employed by the foundry up to the finished cast bronzes.

Here's the approved patina from the foundry, alongside my interpretation of him as a mascot for the 2008 Beijing Olympics, which of course he isn't really. He will however be on a dark stained wooden circular base which rotates.

I hope you enjoy this website, and if you're near one of the galleries which sell my bronzes do feel free to pop in and have a closer look.

Thank you for visiting and I hope you enjoy your stay.

Steve Worthington.

Above is bunny #3, also known as Maxwell.
The bunnies featured in the art here are actually desert cottontail rabbits which live locally.
Below are some miniature ones.

Steve's Bunnies
The toad is a marine toad, or cane toad or giant toad as they are also known.
They're the ones which were introduced to Hawaii, Florida, Southern Texas, the Philippines and Australia. They originate from South and Central America.
The town councillor where they were introduced in Australia wanted to make a monumental sculpture of one, but I don't think it ever happened due to the fact that most people regard them as a giant pest. Mmm, perhaps I can be of service there.
I think mine might make interesting features atop a wall either side of a gate.

And here are some mice. Each one is a solid bronze mouse sculpture.
They were modeled after pet mice, or fancy mice if you prefer, which I've read are decended from the house mouse.
Here is their class photo.

Well, I think that's enough babble from this animal artist in the form of a sculptor for now, I'll allow the cute and the not so cute animals to speak up for themselves if you'd like to scroll back up for the menu...
